Close Files

When a match has been found for a Delayed Bag File, and delivery or collection of the bag has been arranged, you must close the file.

Tip:

Closed files remain in WorldTracer for a defined number of days. After that, you can display them using the file reference number or bag tag number, or use the Advanced Search for closed files.

You can't reopen a file, but you can recreate it if you closed it in error. A recreated file is assigned a new file reference, and includes the original file reference.

Note:

When you forward an On-Hand Bag, WorldTracer automatically closes the On-Hand Bag File. However, if a Forward On-Hand Bag transaction has not been performed (for example, the bag was located at your station), you must manually close the On-Hand Bag File as well.

Important:

Ensure you enter the correct Reason for Loss and Fault Station when you close the file.
